A B-29 Taking off from Saipan

This is an original photo taken by Capt. Sloan. He was the fire marshall at the B-29 base. He donated an extensive collection of photos he had taken and letters that he had written home. The caption he has written on the back of the photo reads: Isley Field, Saipan, First B-29 sortie to Japan from Saipan takes off at Dawn. Oct. 31, 1944
