Question Answer
What is Restitution? Restitution is court-ordered money owed to a victim in a case.
How do I receive my restitution payments? Once the defendant makes a restitution payment, your check will be mailed to you in approximately 1-2 weeks. A check cannot be processed to the victim unless the defendant makes a payment.
How do I change my address on my restitution checks? If you are the victim, you will need to fill out a "Change of Address" form. You can print this form in Adobe Acrobat PDF format or as a Microsoft Word document and then mail it in to the Courthouse. You can also come to the Criminal Fines counter at the Courthouse to fill it out.
How do I have a “Final Judgment for Restitution” satisfied? A Judgment for Restitution will be satisfied by the victim once it is paid. If assistance is needed with the Satisfaction of Judgment for Restitution, contact the State Attorney’s office.
