Where is the Historical Library located? 1405 4th Avenue West, Bradenton. We are one block north of Manatee Avenue (westbound State Road 64) on 14th Street West.
What hours is the Historical Library open? The Historical Library is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.
What kinds of records are at the Historical Library? We have many of Manatee County’s early governmental records dating back to 1856. We have probate files, marriage licenses, tax records, school attendance records, deed books, voting registrations, and soldiers' and sailors' discharge books among them.
Can I look at these historical records? Yes, we will give you a tour of the library when you arrive and do our best to help you find what you are looking for.
How much does it cost to make a copy of an historical record? Most copies are $1.00 per page.
What kinds of researchers use your Historical Library? The primary types of researchers are those doing family history or looking for the history of a piece of land such as environmentalists or title companies. However, we are willing to help anyone who wants to learn more about Manatee County’s past.
Can I find information in your Historical Library if my ancestors did not live in Manatee County? No, at this time, we only have material related to Manatee County.
