Q
uestion:
Ever wonder how to pay your court-ordered child support without having to write a check? Want to make sure your child support payment was received at Florida's child-support payment clearinghouse without having to call the toll-free customer service lines? Ever stayed awake at night wondering if your kids received their money?

Answer:
Your wishes have recently been granted. There is now available an online payment system for parents who pay child support, and employers who are required to send payments on behalf of their employees who pay child support. Non-custodial parents and employers can now pay online with a credit card or electronic check (direct debit from a bank account), 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Available for all child support cases paid through the Florida State Disbursement Unit, the website can be accessed through www.MyFloridaCounty.com.

If you are a party to one of almost 1 million child support cases as a non-custodial parent or employer, you may now use your credit card or checking account to electronically make support payments on-line and check your case to see when it was disbursed. For the approximately 20,000 employers who send lists of employees and checks to the Florida State Disbursement Unit in Tallahassee, the site allows for a list of employees to be entered and a bulk remittance to be sent electronically to the disbursement unit. This system is sure to save your business time and money.

The site provides detailed payment histories. By entering your case & social security numbers, financial details on the five most recent child support payments can be viewed.

Florida is one of the first states to offer an Internet payment service for child support. The National Child Support Enforcement Association has encouraged states to provide Internet-based payment processing as a convenient way to increase collections.

To access this service, log onto the Internet and go to www.MyFloridaCounty.com. Under "ONLINE SERVICES" CLICK ON Pay Child Support & View Payment History.
